✦ Summary

Harun is the brother and prophetic companion of Musa. Renowned for his eloquence where Musa had a stutter, he was appointed vizier and spokesman for the mission. Together they confronted Pharaoh. During Musa's absence at Sinai, Harun tried in vain to stop the Banu Israil from worshipping the golden calf. He died before entering the Promised Land.

Chapter 1 — The Gift of Eloquence

When Allah entrusted Musa with the mission of confronting Pharaoh, Musa acknowledged his limitations with exemplary humility: "And my brother Aaron is more eloquent than me — send him with me as a helper to confirm me. I fear that they will deny me." Allah granted this request: "We will strengthen you through your brother, and We will give you both authority." This request of Musa's is a lesson in prophetic wisdom: acknowledging one's weaknesses and seeking complementary strengths. Harun thus became a co-prophet, a rare designation in prophetic history. Their fraternal relationship is cited as a model of cooperation in faith.
