إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى

Actions are judged by intentions. Each person will have what they intended. Whoever emigrated for Allah and His Messenger, their emigration is for Allah and His Messenger. Whoever emigrated for worldly gain or to marry a woman, their emigration is for what they emigrated for.

بُنِيَ الإِسْلامُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَالحَجِّ وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ

Islam is built upon five pillars: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, establishing prayer, paying zakat, making pilgrimage to the Sacred House, and fasting the month of Ramadan.

قُلْ آمَنْتُ بِاللهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَقِمْ

Say: I believe in Allah — then be steadfast.

إِنَّ الحَلالَ بَيِّنٌ وَإِنَّ الحَرامَ بَيِّنٌ وَبَيْنَهُمَا أُمُورٌ مُشْتَبِهَاتٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهُنَّ كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ

What is lawful is clear and what is unlawful is clear. Between them are doubtful matters which many people do not know. Whoever avoids doubtful matters has protected their religion and honor. Whoever falls into doubtful matters falls into the unlawful, like a shepherd who grazes near a private enclosure and risks entering it.

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَاليَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should say something good or remain silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should be generous to their neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should be generous to their guest.

الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ

The religion is sincere counsel (an-nasîha). — For whom? they asked. — For Allah, for His Book, for His Messenger, for the leaders of Muslims and for the common believers, he replied.

لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لِأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ

None of you truly believes until they love for their brother what they love for themselves.

أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللهَ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاكَ

Iḥsân is that you worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, know that He sees you.

مَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ وَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ

Whatever I have forbidden you, avoid it. Whatever I have commanded you, do as much of it as you can. What destroyed those before you was their excessive questioning and opposition to their prophets.

إِنَّ اللهَ جَمِيلٌ يُحِبُّ الجَمَالَ

Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. Pride is rejecting truth and despising people.

اتَّقِ اللهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ وَأَتْبِعِ السَّيِّئَةَ الحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ

Fear Allah wherever you are. Follow a bad deed with a good one to erase it. And treat people with good character.

مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلامِ المَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لَا يَعْنِيهِ

Among the signs of a person's good Islam is leaving what does not concern them.

لَا يَحِلُّ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلاثٍ

It is not permissible for a Muslim to cut off from their brother (in Islam) for more than three days, each turning away when they meet. The better of the two is the one who greets first.

لَا يُؤْذِي مُسْلِمٌ مُسْلِمًا وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ وَلَا يَحْقِرُهُ — التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا

The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim: he does not oppress him, does not abandon him, does not lie to him and does not despise him. Taqwa is here — (pointing to his chest three times). It is sufficient evil for a man to despise his Muslim brother. Everything of a Muslim is sacred to another Muslim: his blood, his property and his honor.

إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ

Allah has prescribed excellence (iḥsân) in all things. When you kill, kill in the best manner. When you slaughter, slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen their blade and spare the animal they slaughter from suffering.
