Chapter 1 — The Mission Against Baal

Ilyas was sent to a nation of the Banu Israil who had abandoned Tawhid to worship Ba'al — an idol symbolizing fertility and rain. This worship represented a double corruption: attributing divine powers to an idol and ingratitude toward Allah, who alone gives rain and life. Ilyas said to them: "Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Ba'al and abandon the best of creators — Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" His countrymen called him a liar. This resistance to the prophet illustrates how nations in spiritual decline turn against those who warn them.

📖 Quranic verse

🇬🇧 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Baal and leave the best of creators?"

💡 Lessons

🌱The prophet who opposes the dominant culture of his people is often rejected — but Allah vindicates him for eternity.
🔥Idolatry always takes the culturally acceptable forms of its era — yesterday's Ba'al is today's attachment to the material.
