The Zakat
The purifying alms — 3rd pillar of Islam
Main Quranic Proof
"Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them to grow, and invoke blessings upon them — your blessing is a reassurance for them."
"And gives wealth, despite love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy."
Hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal
"Allah has imposed upon them a zakat on their wealth, taken from their rich and given back to their poor."

💡 Did you know?
Zakat is mentioned 82 times in the Quran — including 32 times directly associated with Salat. Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali explains that Zakat purifies the soul from miserliness as water purifies the body. An accepted alms grows wealth rather than diminishing it.
